“After having done a different type of yoga for 15 years, I switched to Iyengar yoga about 10 months ago. I have loved it from the start. It has made me stronger, more flexible and it has improved my posture and balance. What is probably more important, I feel full of energy, calmer and my concentration is better. In short, Iyengar yoga is a truly wonderful practice!” ML
“I have a bipolar disorder. Iyengar yoga has helped smooth out the dips and swings. Learning which poses are energizing and which are calming has pointed me in the direction of equanimity. Classes have given me an opportunity to know which poses I need daily to provide balance.” AV
JP
“Iyengar yoga opens the possibility for alignment of body, mind and heart and asks only for intention and attention. Stepping along the Iyengar yoga pathway with curiosity and confidence has allowed me to see that equanimity and vitality can be my constant companions.” MG
“I was recently reminded of why I keep doing yoga. I didn’t do my home practice on Saturday and Sunday last weekend, and all of a sudden Sunday night I couldn’t sleep. I went back to doing my half-hour a day practice this week and now I’m fine. I don’t realize how important yoga is to my well-being until I stop doing it… then something reminds me right away of how important it is!” PK
“The steady practise of Iyengar yoga has led me toward a consistent feeling of overall well-being. To learn and explore its many tenets is a joy. It may sound far-fetched but it does seem like a privilege to study a discipline that helps me better understand my body and my mind, a discipline that helps me make the best of both.” DM
“As I was approaching 50, and feeling a little stiff, a coach suggested I do yoga to start my day. “I’m way to stiff, especially in the mornings”, I replied. “Well that’s because you don’t do yoga in the mornings!” she offered. Unable to combat such dazzling logic I began in earnest. Now ten years later, not only am I more flexible than I have been in years, but also stronger and with much better balance. My practice has also enabled me to be calmer in the face of some challenging priorities at this point in my life. Iyengar yoga in particular with its skillful focus on each student’s needs and physical habits has been a gift to my body.” JO
